LED (Light Emitting Diode) therapy has emerged as one of the most versatile, gentle, and effective treatments in modern aesthetic medicine. Using specific wavelengths of light energy, LED therapy stimulates cellular processes that promote healing, reduce inflammation, and enhance skin health — all without pain, downtime, or side effects.
How LED Therapy Works
Different wavelengths of light penetrate to different depths within the skin, triggering distinct biological responses:
Red Light (630-660nm)
Penetrates to the dermis, stimulating fibroblast activity and collagen production. Ideal for anti-ageing, wound healing, and general skin rejuvenation. Studies demonstrate increased collagen density after 8–12 sessions.
Blue Light (415nm)
Targets and destroys Propionibacterium acnes bacteria in the superficial skin layers. An excellent antibiotic-free acne treatment supported by strong clinical evidence.
Near-Infrared (830nm)
The deepest penetrating wavelength, reaching muscles and joints. Reduces inflammation, promotes deep tissue repair, and is used post-procedure to accelerate healing.
Yellow/Amber Light (590nm)
Targets redness and rosacea by strengthening blood vessel walls. Also beneficial for sensitive skin conditions.
Treatment Experience
LED sessions are completely painless and relaxing. You simply lie beneath the LED panel for 20–30 minutes whilst the light energy works at a cellular level. No preparation or recovery needed — many patients enjoy LED during their lunch break.
Recommended Protocols
- Anti-ageing: 2–3 sessions per week for 4–6 weeks
- Acne: 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks
- Post-procedure healing: Immediately after treatment, then daily for 3–5 days
- Maintenance: Weekly or fortnightly sessions ongoing
