Non-surgical skin tightening technologies have advanced dramatically, offering genuine alternatives to surgical facelifts for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity. At Axiom Aesthetics, we offer the latest evidence-based tightening treatments.
How Non-Surgical Tightening Works
All non-surgical tightening methods work by delivering controlled energy (heat) to the deeper skin layers (dermis) and underlying connective tissue. This heat causes immediate collagen contraction and, over the following months, stimulates new collagen production — the neocollagenesis that provides progressive tightening.
Available Technologies
Radiofrequency (RF) Treatments
RF energy heats the dermis to 42–45°C, triggering collagen remodelling. Monopolar RF penetrates deeply for jawline and body tightening, whilst multipolar RF is excellent for delicate areas around the eyes.
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
HIFU delivers precise ultrasound energy to the SMAS layer — the same layer targeted in surgical facelifts. This makes it unique among non-surgical options for reaching deeper tissue planes. Results develop over 2–3 months as new collagen matures.
Combination Approaches
The most effective results often come from combining technologies. For example, HIFU for deep tissue tightening with RF microneedling for surface texture improvement creates a comprehensive rejuvenation effect.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Ideal candidates are aged 35–60 with mild to moderate laxity who want improvement without surgery. Patients with significant sagging may benefit more from surgical options or thread lifts.
