Our Story
Axiom Aesthetics was founded in 2018 by Mr. Alexander Blackwood FRCS(Plast) and Dr. Priya Chen MBBS BCAM, two clinicians who shared a frustration with the growing gap between patient expectations and clinical reality in the UK aesthetics industry.
Having trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Free Hospital respectively, both had witnessed first-hand the consequences of poorly regulated aesthetic treatments — and the life-changing power of procedures performed to the highest surgical standard.
Their vision was uncompromising: build a Harley Street clinic where every practitioner holds specialist-level GMC registration, where CQC oversight is embraced rather than avoided, and where evidence-based medicine meets genuine artistic sensibility. A clinic that would never cut corners on training, technology, or time spent with each patient.
The Axiom Approach
The name “Axiom” was chosen deliberately — an axiom is a self-evident truth. And our truth is that exceptional aesthetic outcomes require three things in equal measure: deep medical expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and unhurried, personalised care.
Every new patient consultation at Axiom lasts a minimum of 45 minutes. We use Visia Complexion Analysis, Vectra 3D facial imaging, and comprehensive skin diagnostics to understand your anatomy before proposing any treatment. We operate a mandatory 48-hour reflection period for all surgical procedures — because we believe great decisions are never rushed.
Where We Are Today
From our flagship clinic at 48 Harley Street, our team of six GMC-registered specialists and four senior aesthetic practitioners has performed over 15,000 treatments. We hold CQC registration, Save Face accreditation, and memberships with BAAPS, BAPRAS, BCAM, and the JCCP. In 2024, we were named Aesthetic Clinic of the Year at the MyFaceMyBody Awards.
